Visualizing growth of a graphic design student at NID

A part of an interaction design workshop with Prof. Andreas Schnider (Institute of Information Design, Japan) - this was an exercise which used available databases to create visualizations addressing current problems. A systematic approach of analyzing and filtration of datas is followed for a speedy and productive outcome.

The brief adopted for this particular task was to visualize the growth of a student of graphic design at NID. The ultimate goal was creating a visual that would give an idea of the curriculum spanning over eight semesters. We focussed on the order, category, time and credits of individual courses. This put together on a timeline helped us deduce the patterns within the structure.  The visualization also provided space for critically analyzing the current curriculum and help improve it for the future.
